Giorgi Korsantia captures well deserved MVP trophy

Sandro Kebadze

Like it or not, but Giorgi Korsantia is the best in Superleague. Fast, powerful, agile, experienced, tough, still improving and by doing so, he left no doubts of who was the deserving MVP of the tense finals. Korsantia was the x-factor and the most dominant player in Kutaisi.

His season was solid, to say the least. His craftiness never left the doubts. His emotional calmness was leading the team, that has mostly missed some star power from the line up. And, Korsantia never disappointed, never backed up, never betrayed the principles that he was following. It was him, who turned the series around and helped his team to erase the deficit and later, take the decider in a style.

Korsantia was averaging 20.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and some needed 2.5 assists to come along with great, sometimes suffocating defense. His game improved in a lot of areas, mostly, he improved from the perimeter and become more relentless post up scorer. All, un all, he deserved that recognition as the finals’ MVP.

Korsantia was very good in the finals as well. In those two games that Kutaisi lost, Georgian NT representative was solid as hell, scoring 19 and 15 points respectively, while grabbing some crusial boards. But it did matter in the last three games, where Giorgi was his team’s Tim Duncan, leading his team to immortality.

19 points, 9 boards, 3 dimes and his team took game 3.

20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Kutaisi evened the series.

And he saved his best for the last: 30 points, 10 rebounds in the clincher!

Meet the MVP: Giorgi Korsantia.
