Shengelia is the main force for team Georgia.
Tornike Shengelia will have to play two games in two days. That’s how the leaders act when they have to.
The member of Barcelona will have his hands full as the matter of fact. On November 26th Tornike will face French side Lyon in Euroleague game and 24 hours late, he will change his uniform to help Georgian National Team while facing Ukraine.
Shengelia is having another solid season. He is averaging 12.4 points per game, trailing only Will Clyburn (13.2) in his team. Alongside team-leading 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, Toko is helping Barcelona not to lose a ground in a tough Euroleague season, where no game is given.
As for GNT, team faces another tough road to a World Championships. Georgia has been a World Cup participant two years ago and this time, we have to go through Spain, Ukraine and Denmark. The later hosts Spain the same day.
Shengelia is on a mission. Barcelona is having a difficult season so far. They are at 9th place so far, with 7:5 record and were beaten by Shane Larkin less Anadolu Efes 74:73 in the last game. Toko was less effective than usual and was facing a foul trouble all game long. He finished with a modest 4 points, 3 boards and 3 assists, while missing 6 out of 7 shots from the field.
In Spanish Championships, Tornike and his team were in a good shape, as they downed Gran Canaria for dominant 72:61 win. Shengelia was good in all areas, as he finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds and an assists. Barcelona Barca is on two game winning streak and with 4:4 is not losing ground to leaders Valencia and Real (7:1 each).
Georgia will need Tornike at his best.
Just like Barca does.
Shengelia will have to be at full force come game time.
