Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did not shoot the ball well (27/8) in the Game 7 of NBA finals. But it was enough, just his presence sometimes, for his team to deliver the goods.

OKC relied on the best thing that ever happened for this franchise since Kevin Durant and did Shai delivered!

The young fella had on of the best individual seasons in league history as he became one of only three players ever to win regular season MVP, scoring title and Finals MVP in one run. Only some guys named Michael and Lebron did this before.

Shai deserved that elusive Bill Russell trophy, as he was the Man on a mission. He arrived to OKC six years ago and slowly transformed the team from the outsider to an elite contender. And, after finishing the Finals on a high note, Mister Alexander now belongs to a league elite. One of the all-time greats he is. And that is a fact.

Before Shai, the highest single season points average for a player that won the title in the same season, belonged to Michael Jordan (32.6, 1992/1993), but this young monster topped that by a one-tenth of a point. Sorry, Michael.

He had 212 points in the final. The most, since Lebron got 215 2015. Count the 15 30 point games in the play offs as well. That trails only Jordan and one tall pivot Hakeem Olajuwon. Not a bad company at all.

We never forget how good was Shai in the Finals and he was even better in the deciding game 4. While Thunder were trailing 1:2 in these series, he scored 15 of his 35 points in the final five minutes of the game. The best last five minutes in the Finals. Well, at least, in the last 50 years.

Also, Shai joined the tough guys from the past by becoming only the fourth player ever to win the triple crown: scoring champion, MVP and NBA champion in the same year. Only Jordan (4 times), Shaq and Abdul-Jabbar did that before.

The season belonged to this young torturer.

The league belongs to his team.

Obey your Master. He is that good.

The world belongs to Shai.
