The Hungarian Sports Journalists’ Association (HSJA) held its annual congress in Dunaszerdahely, Slovakia — a special location close to the former Slovak-Hungarian border with a vibrant Hungarian community and proud home of F.C. DAC.

Hosted at the MOL Arena, the event brought together over 140 journalists for inspiring lectures, discussions, and sports activities. The congress was opened by Balázs Fürjes, Hungarian IOC member, with messages from Hungarian and Slovak sports officials emphasizing the power of sport and media to unite across borders.

More than HUF 4.5 million (€13,000) in prizes and 20 awards were given to outstanding Hungarian sports journalists. Congratulations to Anna Szilágyi, winner of the global AIPS Young Reporter Photo award, and other Hungarians ranked in the European TOP TEN.

This congress stands as a great example of how sport journalism strengthens European cooperation, cultural exchange, and shared values.
