Zaza Pachulia’s past and present
Known for his tenacious game of basketball, fierce rebounding and well, also for “Zaza Rule” (flagrant foul on reckless closeout that was developed after a brutal incident with non other than Kawhi Leonard. After that play, Zaza later expressed regret said, that it was not intentional), Zaza Pachulia was the most decorated NBA representative from Georgia. Well, he still is.
Now? Zaza stayed loyal to Golden State warriors and currently serves as consultant for this team, while focusing on business and basketball operations. Pachulia retired in 2019, but stayed focused on basketball. Besides that, he is very active in promoting Georgian business, including a friendship with a sneaker company Crosty. Try that, original and elegant by the way.
Zaza has always been a workhorse, so it was no surprise, that he took another direction as well, taking courses at Harvard Business School to improve his business acumen after some early investment losses.
He has his interest and focus on tourism and real estate in Georgia. Nice try.
Golden State and those two titles with Warriors helped Zaza a lot, but truth is, that he helped the team too. In the first season for sure. Later his role and status in the Warriors powerhouse was somehow diminished, but Zaza is a very well known person within the organization. And he did play 16 seasons in NBA. A hard workload.
You may not be a big Zaza fan, especially if you are die hard Spurs fan, but one thing is for sure: Zaza is a respectful person, who always went ‘till the end in all areas.
We do remember.
