Ramin Allahverdiyev - AİJA Vice-president

On May 10, the 17th Paul Klein tournament among various age groups in freestyle wrestling was held in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The team of the Azerbaijan Sports Journalists Association (AİJA) participated in the traditional tournament under the leadership of the head of the AİJA wrestling commission, Ramin Allahverdiyev.

Our team, which has been invited to the traditional competition since 2011, participated in the competition this time with 9 athletes and finished the tournament with 5 medals. Kamran Niftiyev (68 kg) took 1st place in the U15 age category. Huseyn Asadov (92 kg) took 2nd place and Ilyas Isayev (60 kg) took 3rd place in the U18 age category. The remaining 2 bronze medals were won by Elnur Najafzade U10 (38 kg) and Gulam Mammadli U13 (57 kg).

At the end of the competition, our team was presented with an honorary cup by the organizers. The honorary award was presented to the head of the AİJA wrestling team, honored coach Ramin Allahverdiyev by the director of the ASV Ludwigshafen Club Gerhard Mohra.

After the competition, the AİJA wrestling team visited France as part of its European tour. The delegation was welcomed by Mirvari Fataliyeva, Secretary General of the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan, at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center and introduced them to the activities of the Center.
