Georgian Supercup goes to Kutaisi.
The reigning Superleague champion crushed TSU in the final 86:68. While Kutaisi was at full force, TSU was missing all the foreigners. Tough task while facing the powerful opponent. Kutaisi also rested its foreign stars, but all in all is better on paper and was better on the court as well.
Supercup is honoring the legendary Georgian champion Otar Qorqia and Kutaisi is no stranger at winning it all. This marked the fourth time that Kutaisi became the SUpercup holder, also winning the title in 2014, 2019 and 2021.
A team guided by the experienced head coach Kote Tugushi, once again showed its passion and grit.
Kutaisi won the last quarter 23:14. TSU was fighting, but felt just short.
Giorgi Korsantia led Kutaisi with 20 points, 11 boards and 7 assistsm while Georgian National team member Giorgi Otchkhikidze paced his team with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 dimes. Korsantia was named the MVP of the game as well.
Kutaisi opened the season with a style.
Way to go, boys!
