Ilia Topuria not interested in fighting Tsarukyan

Ilia Topuria made it clear: he is not interested to face Arman Tsarukyan in No 1 contender matchup and wants an immediate clash with Pound-for-Pound UFC leader Islam Makhachev.

Well, that’s how the things stand now. Let me remind you, that few days ago UFC boss Dana White announced, that Topuria is vacating his title and will move up one weight up. Topuria (28) believes, he has a real chance of upsetting the elite in 155 lb as well.

And Makhachev is not the only one who thinks, that Topuria does not really deserves the straight up battle with the champion. Ilia has to earn the title shot. And, that’s what Islam’s coach, UFC legend, the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov thinks.

His opinion is, that without fighting in the new weight, Ilia does not deserve the Islam fight. Makhachev has already given a title shot twice to 145 lb champion and that did not give him enough credit.
