Shai for MVP?
Of course, there are some big Victor Wembanyama and Nicola Jokic fans, who think their favorites deserve a strong support in the ongoing NBA MVP race, but for me, this comes down to two monsters. Enter the arena, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka oncic.
Shai is the reigning MVP. And he is having a better season, than the one that got him the elusive prize. He is quietly averaging 31.5 points, 6.6 dimes and 4.5 rebounds and is the engine of the league’s best team, OKC. And, Shai is shooting better than 52 percent in all one month.
He is on that record 20-point streak as well. He is the lethal scoring machine and the streak is now on 130 games. He is deadly on defense and he has had seven steals in his last two games. A monster.
Well, Luka had his best part of the season. So far, he is on 33.4 points, almost 8 rebounds and 8.4 assists. Luka had a 60, 50, 41, 31 and 30 point games this month, some triple doubles and what is most important, the Lakers have won 11 of the last 12 games.
And, Luka has improved his defense. That is the most important that counts. He is rock solid there and he is doing it in some deadly strides.
Lakers have breezed through some good teams and they are trying to lock up the Top four seed and a home field advantage in the first round.
So, who is going to win the big prize?
Only time will tell.
