Dvalishvili is bitter after the loss.

Few days ago Petr Yan defeated Merab Dvalishvili in their rematch to win the bantamweight title and thus, ended Merab’s 14 fight win streak.

For Yan, he had one of the best performances in his career and probably, one of the best of the year in UFC. These beasts battled in 2023, when Dvalishvili took home the one sided fight. This time, it was different. The fight belonged to Yan.

And, it was a tough one for Merab, who had already amassed three (!) title defenses during the calendar year and went as far as being mentioned as the greatest bantamweight fighter of all time. And now, many experts expect “The Machine” to get an immediate rematch with Yan.

But the new champion is not voting to that. Yan mentions, that for him, to get the chance to fight for the belt again, UFC made him go three more fights before finally facing Merab in a title clash. And he was in a contender position again.

After losing a title clash to Merab two years ago, Yan lost to Merab’s buddy Aljamain Sterling via disqualification, and later, was beaten in a rematch with Sterling and also, a fight to Sean O’Malley . He later avenged those beatings by winning three bouts in a row.

And now, Yan is waiting for UFC decision.

Be it Merab, whoever. This will the first title defense for Yan and he will be ready for it.

Yan: I do not care. I flew 30 hours to get here. Put me in Alaska, anywhere. Twelve hour difference, completely different climates, continents. Merab? Anybody else? Just tell me where and that is it. Give me the location.”

It will be dream match for Merab to get his belt back.

Now, the final say is on UFC.
