Tornike Shengelia will be among Eurobasket superstars

When it comes to leadership and passion, very few guys are better and tougher than Tornike Shengelia.

An irreplaceable player for Virtus Bologna and Georgian National Team, Shengelia is the beast. A leader on the field and an example of never giving up for the most part of his illustrious career, Toko was the MVP of GNT in the EUROBASKET qualification round.

His last game, a battle against Denmark, was a true test for Shengelia. He missed a lot of shots, but scored when it mattered the most. Toko closed the game with 19 points and 13 rebounds and was great on defense.

 Take out Shengelia from either Virtus or  GNT and both teams are relegation bound squads. Tornike uses all his experience to take down every opponent he faces. Shengelia is one of the best non-NBA forwards and shines in clutch situations.

He will be among Eurobasket’s best players and Toko does now have time to rest. He might reload here and there, but rest is unreal. After coming back from the injury, Shengelia is off to a great restart and seeks the chaos everywhere he goes.

Toko is a vocal leader and that does come from his hard working, team-first attitude. The huge battles await and the captain of Georgian National team will be crucial for this squad.

In five games played at this qualification, Shengelia is averaging 22.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists, while playing 34.8 (!) minutes.

When it comes to a bloody battle, the captain is always ready.
